Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for Organic
(free) search results
SEO is the art and science of designing, programming,
integrating and networking a website (or page) for best performance
in a search engine's (Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.) organic search results.
Organic refers to the "general results" in a web search, not the
highlighted "paid search" results (discussed in the next section).
Although the exact formulas for each engine's organic results are
closely guarded secrets, a few expert programmers have been able
to estimate them with remarkable precision.
Generally speaking, professional SEO work is a one-time investment
whose benefit is reaped from that point forward, without further
expense. So, although proper SEO is high-level programming work,
it can be quite cost-effective in the long run. Everyone loves the
idea of only paying once for ongoing free "promotion" by
the world's biggest search engines including Google, Yahoo and MSN.
Feel free to get in touch to discuss your objectives
and receive a quote, generally within one business day. Starting
at $600 for a small website, just for a point of reference.
Sponsored Search advertising on Google, Yahoo,
MSN, more.
Paid search advertising (also called sponsored
search) refers to designing, implementing, monitoring and revising
online ad campaigns by bidding on carefully selected words and search
phrases to promote a website, web page, etc. Advertisers can bid
on search results and/or place ads that appear on relevant websites
owned by others. Impact (and billing) can be measured in a number
of ways including Click Through Rate (CTR), cost per 1,000 viewers,
and even by a prospect completing a desired action (filling out
a form or making a purchase).
As with SEO, effective paid search advertising is both art and science.
Keywords (words and short phrases) need to be tested for cost-effectiveness,
activity and competition. Negative keywords are often included to
eliminate bad matches. It is important to make this type of advertising
as targeted and relevant as possible, since advertisers are
rewarded (with better search results positioning) for running ads
that interest the searcher. Those ads which are too general (or
lack relevance) are penalized since they are seldom "clicked," and
are considered a disservice (or clutter) to the search engine's
users.
We will be glad to discuss how this type of advertising might fit
your needs. It can be very cost-effective to test ads, since
bids can be as low as pennies per click; and we can set budgets
of $1 per day, $5 per day, etc. The initial cost is having an experienced
Paid Search professional evaluate your goals, and design campaigns
to fit.

Technology help
Get "Up to speed" on any issue, technology or concept
without fear of feeling foolish for asking. It's our job, and we
love it.
We have all been there at one time or another, wishing someone could
"brief us" on an issue before a meeting or phone call. For example,
"What are blogs?" "What is Bluetooth, or Biodiesel?" "A client asked
for an email attachment in a particular file format. What does
that mean?" "I have heard of Internet viruses, but what is SpyWare,
MalWare and GrayWare; and do I need to be concerned?" "Should I
monitor how my computer/phone/office is being used - and what are
the legal issues involved with that?" (and these are all "old" topics;
challenge us with your newest).
Internet security - Online security
If you have questions or concerns about these issues,
we would be glad to help. Besides protecting users, hardware and
software from various perils, business owners and managers frequently
ask about monitoring how the company's resources (computer, phone,
etc.) are being used - and what the issues are with that decision.
