Cost-Effective Business Solutions
CASE SCENARIO # 1
Customer: "I have a strong resume that
helped me land this management-level job seven years ago. I've been
working my way up the corporate ladder, but things have kind of
stalled out. The clients are so picky now; sometimes I work on a
project for months, and they don't take any of my suggestions. I'm
concerned that my bosses think the "younger generation" is more
creative (and some days it feels like they are right). I spend plenty
of money on sharp business attire, and try to keep in shape. I live
in the right neighborhood and drive an impressive car, fit for a
professional. However, I'm starting to slip in every area. I feel
a little transparent; like my peers are starting to see though this
facade of success."
Barebones: The good news is that you are not alone. The challenge
is that it's not a one-shot solution. We can help you creatively,
with 100% confidentiality - completely "behind the scenes." This
can include providing new ideas, or helping you refine and look
for pitfalls in concepts you come up with. We can also assist with
the writing and presentation of your solutions. Barebones Consulting
has access to an extensive "Think Tank" of professionals.
Sometimes, we use industry-specific experience. At other times,
an "Outsider's View" works better. As you know, it only takes
one great idea to climb back on top.
Also, our consultants are in-shape, in-style, successful professionals;
male and female. If you want an updated "look" - hairstyle, clothing,
accessories, automobile, etc. - we can make the arrangements; no
problem.
And then there is the big
one:
Customer: "How do busy professionals
keep in shape and/or slim down?" "It seems to get harder as
we age (which is true, by the way)." "How do you find the time?"
"Is it diet or exercise?
Which diet works? Please help."
Barebones: As you probably suspect, there are right ways
and wrong ways. The people that never seem to think about dieting
have found the right ways; they are not just lucky. We can
help put you on track."
CASE SCENARIO # 2
Customer: "Our restaurant business is not
what it used to be. In order to "stay in the game," we need to get
rid of some old equipment and fixtures, and purchase new. However,
I have not looked at new equipment in decades; and I have to
run the business every day. I don't have time to research these
other issues."
Barebones: "I have my digital camera. Let's take pictures
of the equipment you want to sell. I will write the ads, and list
it for sale right now. Then I will schedule equipment suppliers
to make twenty minute presentations one morning next week. I will
also have a commercial designer stop by to make design/decor suggestions.
I will be there with you as a second set of eyes and ears, if you
wish. After we hear what they have to say, we can compare notes,
and you can decide the best course of action.
Customer: "Wow! I have been asking my kid
to help me with this for two years. How much will your company charge
me for all this?"
Barebones: "It will take me an hour and a half today. If
you can handle the vendors on your own, that will be it. If you
would like me here with you next week, figure a couple hours for
that. It's your choice."
CASE SCENARIO # 3
Customer: "Last week, my General Manager
of twelve years walked into my office, shut the door and said he
was leaving his wife. Having been through a divorce myself, I understood
some of his emotions. The difference is that he is moving in with
another man. He is gay, and is now planning to "come out." He said
he wanted me to know, before others started to find out."
"Now, I have my own feelings about homosexuality; but my immediate
concern is how the rest of our employees will respond. I hear how
they talk, especially the production staff and the sales guys; always
making gay jokes and using slurs to put each other down. I fear
that this will be a huge interruption to business; and I just don't
want trouble. In some ways I am resentful that this is happening,
but we have to get through it somehow."
Barebones: "Many companies, families and friends experience
the shock of finding out that someone is gay/lesbian. Each situation
has its own dynamics; and dealing with this issue in a commercial
setting has additional considerations. Gay/Lesbian issues and other
"Lifestyle" situations has become a specialty of Barebones Consulting.
And remember, our help is 100% confidential. Let's start from the
top, and make a plan that fits your situation."
