About the Founder
Two
of my supremely talented friends opened a hair salon. If not for
them, much of my hair would be silver-gray, despite only having
reached __ years of age. Other than that little secret, what you
see is what you get.
My intention was to become a college professor. After finishing
undergrad and learning how much time and money that pursuit would
consume, I elected to abandon education for industry.
My career path included financial, technology and automotive positions
of increasing management responsibility. With an ever-growing (and
multi-disciplinary) list of loyal clients - and their repeat and
referral business - the company you are reading about seemed to
build itself. I just had to give it a name (ohhhh, and register
and insure the business, design the website, add policies and procedures,
set up banking and merchant processing capabilities, buy and insure
vehicles, purchase health insurance, order supplies, create marketing
plans, network with freelance experts in various industries, and
manage every client inquiry that comes in, as promised. Whew! But
I wouldn't have it any other way.).
I wanted a name that matched my business and life philosophy. The
term "barebones" comes from the computer industry, and has been
adapted to mean something high-performance and results-oriented,
but without excessive glitz and expense. It was a perfect fit for
what we had to offer, so Barebones Consulting was born.
If you have browsed our website, you learned that we work with clients
on a variety of projects and issues. We have attempted to steer
around some of the most mainstream, high-volume areas of consulting,
in favor of a more personal approach. Of course, there is very little
we won't do for a good customer, which is how some of our (now)
most popular services originated: client requests.
Outside of work, my favorite activities include cooking for and
entertaining our large families and fantastic friends. I'm a health
and fitness enthusiast, with an emphasis on balance and moderation;
a good thing since I also love food and wine.
In Michigan, my favorite spots include: Eve the Restaurant, Rush
Street, Cafe Habana and La Dolce Vita (for dessert) - all in Ann
Arbor. The Plymouth Coffee Bean, and Java Hut (Ferndale) are fun
breaks from the norm. Trattoria Stella (restaurant) and Moomers
(ice cream) in Traverse City are not to be missed. Pearl's in Elk
Rapids and the Red Mesa Grill locations up north are winners as
well.
We try to get away a few times per year, and (besides northern Michigan)
enjoy travel to San Francisco and the California wine country, Chicago,
New York City and Scottsdale, AZ. Our highest recommendations go
to Dry Creek Kitchen in Healdsburg, CA; BLT Prime in NYC, along
with Violet Hour (for cocktails) and Spring (restaurant) in Chicago's
Wicker Park neighborhood.
Please recommend other establishments you think I would appreciate,
particularly those that are original in concept and execution, whether
fancy or "down and dirty."
It is my sincerest hope that you find Barebones Consulting to be
the most accommodating, enthusiastic, creative and value-oriented
service provider you have ever worked with. I am always curious
to hear your suggestions, and to respond personally if necessary.
My contact info. appears below.
I look forward to hearing from and working with you soon.
Yours in Success,
